TabSafe – Privacy Policy

Effective date: 14 October 2026

TabSafe ("the extension") is a Chrome extension that saves and restores browser tab sessions, including Chrome tab groups, with automatic local snapshots and export. This policy explains what data it handles.

Summary

Data stored on your device

This data is stored in Chrome's extension storage (chrome.storage.local / unlimitedStorage). It is removed when you delete a session, clear snapshots, or uninstall the extension. Exporting JSON/HTML writes a file you choose on your device; TabSafe does not upload that file.

Data sent over the network

TabSafe does not send your session data, URLs, or settings to our servers. The only network activity is whatever Chrome itself does when you open or restore a tab URL you already had.

Permissions

TabSafe does not request host permissions and does not run content scripts on websites.

Children

The extension is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect their data.

Changes

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new effective date.
